Come and hear me talk about photography - my talks are ready to go so I can often help out at very short notice if you get an unexpected cancellation… €75 for a roughly 2 hour online session which I can host on Zoom if your club prefers, or we can use your Zoom.

Lightroom Editing Live!
Your photos - my editing
Having judged a number of normal themed club nights recently via Zoom, I’ve been loading the images up in Lightroom and as well as commenting on them as normal, have also then showed how I would have made improvements - either to editing or perhaps in presentation such as a different crop. This talk asks club members to email me in 1 or 2 images each, which I’ll edit for them in the session. You can send in images you feel are submission ready, or straight out of camera - and I’ll show you how I would edit them to submission standard in Lightroom. I record these sessions and make the video available to club members following the session, so you get a valuable teaching aid to keep and re-watch.
I’ve delivered talks to camera clubs around the world, and present my material in an engaging and interactive manner which makes for a great club evening or photo event session! €75 for all evening CC talks & judging including online ones.

Hi Joe
While I was too late to enter any photos into the competition, the last 2+ hours have been really useful and informative .
In some way not having entered gave me more time to just listen to your judging of the various photos and potentially learn more not having any distractions.
I am still trying to master processing tools but your judging was a masterclass in why you need to use same to fine tune even excellent entries. I would always find the rule of thirds useful when reviewing/composing/cropping an image so was nice to see I am not alone when the image facilitates it .
Thanks for taking all the time you obviously spent in going through all the images and then translating it into salient points which could improve an image or at the very least give loads of food for thought.
Outlining the scoring under each of the headings complimented with the comments was very instructive. Your constructive comments allied to the amount of time you obviously spent reviewing the entries will have been pf huge benefit to everybody on the broadcast.
Thanks again for what was a very instructive couple of hours ....I have loads of room for improvement along with a lot of food for thought !

PhotoShop Training Day
A full day of training in Adobe Photoshop, delivered by photographer and one of Irelands very few Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Certified Experts - Joe Houghton.
This 2 session day starts with introducing some basic PhotoShop tools and techniques - aimed specifically at the club photographer who is also probably using Lightroom. The topics covered during the sessions are outlined below, and will be explored using Joe’s own images as examples.

Lightroom Training Day
A full day of training in Adobe Lightroom, delivered by photographer and one of Irelands very few Adobe Certified Experts - Joe Houghton.
This 2 session experience takes you through the basics of the Lightroom catalogue and how to organise and find your images, and then into the Develop module where the real magic happens. Editing using the global adjustment tools and then in the afternoon, the localised tools shows how this powerful but easy to use programme can make your images pop and have you getting winners at club and in competition on a regular basis.
BONUS - All participants will receive a videoed copy of the talk so they don’t have to take notes during the session, but can revisit the material in their own time at a later date on their own computer. This will typically be over 4 hours of video training which can be downloaded and played at home.

My Journey in Street Photography
In this talk Joe takes a walk through his personal journey discovering Street Photography, discussing craft, kit and influences, and the creation of his book “Streets of Dublin”. The talk is illustrated with images from his “Streets of Dublin” collection.
Long Exposure Photography
Creating images using long exposures can be a very rewarding and fulfilling aspect of photography. In this talk, Joe explores a number of different techniques to capture long exposure images, and also shows a number of ways to post-process images using Lightroom and Photoshop to bring out the very best in them.
